tomorrow morning we're bound for blue ridge, georgia!

can't wait to drink in the mountain air, eat good food, hang out with great folks, and just re-charge my batteries-- i need a vacation!

brother comes to town...

in dire need of a haircut and shave, as usual!
but it's always so nice to see him-- despite his lack of regard for personal grooming.
(don't they bathe and change clothes daily in austria?! it doesn't seem so.... ha!)


anyhoo-- we went out to ft. pulaski on sunday and it was absolutely beautiful! i can't think of a better way to spend the day.....

so we strolled for a bit-- and kept a pretty good distance from all the tourists right up at the fort.

though we had to get a good close-up of the canonball-battered wall-- crazy!

and then we finally chilled by the ocean for a while, while the dogs played in the water and got sufficiently muddy!

such a wonderful day indeed.
gotta love 70 degrees in late-October!

and off to the moutains we go in 3 more days........ woohoo!

a typical dinner when kevin is working:
quinoa prepared using chicken broth+ grated parmesan cheese+ green olives.

quite tasty!

i have a recent affinity for quinoa, superfood! chock full of protein and easy to prepare like rice-- nutritious and delicious.

yum. now im hungry.

the countdown continues...

3 weeks til Blue Ridge!

cannot wait to head up to the mountains for our "2nd Anniversary Trip"-- this year, crazy brother kiel along with will, kim, cam, kelle (and possibly 8 month-old lilah) will be joining us.

it's gonna be great.

days like this...

i kinda miss right now.

as much as i love fall (and i really really do!) the weather here lately has been so cool and dreary and rainy....

makes me wish for the sunshine again. just a bit.

and after 4 months of no drinking, that cold beer in the Crab Shack coozie looks mighty tasty too......

and though i'm only 4 months along with the little guy/gal growing inside me, i'm kinda starting to feel a bit blimp-like. which kinda makes me wish again for the days of the tiny blue bikini.....

but, i must admit, i'm kinda liking how much better i'd fill the top part of that little bikini these days! (wink wink)

i eat a fair amount of eggs and not only is this guy a handy whisk, but he always makes me smile too. and who doesnt want to smile while preparing scrambled eggs?

mmm... eggs. i think i know what i'm having for dinner. :)
