still alive & kickin'! and strawberry pickin'!
yum.
delicious!
ellie turned 2 in March. crazy. time flies.
but i love it. and her. SO much. she's a bird. such a funny little character.
and she loves to dance, like her mama. and play with her blue dinosaur. and eat rice krispies with bananas. (which she calls 'pop'-- short for snap, crackle, pop!)
anyhoo, in other news, i've been teaching zumba toning classes twice a week now for the last 5 months. it's nice to get paid to exercise, but i don't really feel like i'm cut out to be part of the zumba machine. and i refuse to wear ridiculous neon "zumbawear" from head to toe. and tassles?! oh hell no. ;o) i'm a black and gray girl when i exercise-- it's a funeral for my fat. ha! might try to get my AFAA group exercise fitness certification so i can teach other classes and maybe even get into spin instruction. we'll see.
life's good.
i even got back into 'making' just a bit... and have a few projects goin' on. a couple of quilts for some friends who are getting married. not gonna lie, they're gonna be pretty darn nifty when they're finished.... assuming i can buckle down and get around to finishing them!
fell out of blogland for a good while, as i tend to do.
but i might be back.
perhaps.
xo.

summertime randomness
(me and my heart)
salty little princess

me, long ago. resemblance?
coppertone baby
what can i say? things are good. kickin' right along. trying to get back into the blog habit. still not a big fan of my computer, but it'll have to do for a while til it dies and i get an iPad.
ellie runs my world these days. her and exercise (kinda addicted to zumba, been going strong for about 4 years now and finally planning to become a certified instructor. so we'll see about that). and outdoor beach time and boat outings with our fella. and taking care of WAY too many tomato plants. (but the salsa's good, as i have to keep reminding myself).
if only i could get a creative urge to return... but i guess that's just not a summertime thing for me. all in due time, i suppose. :o)
hello again, and goodbye for now.
Friday, June 3
still kickin' (and climbin' on dogs too)
she's getting big.
and very blonde.
and oh so sassy.
love this gal.

ellie is one!
on sunday, i baked a mini applesauce cake (with cream cheese icing) and we had a mini celebration for ellie's big day!
can't believe it's already been a year since she came along!
so.much.love.

lately (kinda)
comin' at ya!
on the move...
"hmmm... guess i'll have to use my hands..."
took a break from blogging for a while.
not sure why.
it's probably because my computer is a pain in the ass these days. things just arent the same since we switched operating systems and, for some reason, all of my photos are so dang hard to find. it's frustrating.
but ellie is lovely.
my little knucklehead.
:o)
Sunday, December 12
ho ho ho...
so here's ellie, checkin' santa out.
then, ellie kicked santa out of his chair and started posing...
but then she decided to let him sit down again-- she wanted a picture with her soon-to-be partner in crime, annabelle.
nice indeed.
(pics taken by annabelle's supermom, angie. i'm so lucky to have a bff whose also a great photographer. score!)

our little can-opener

hehehehe. doesnt she look like a mischevious little old lady?
and these 2 bottom teeth now have a another tooth friend. top front left tooth has officially cut. thank goodness! let's just say that a few tears were shed and a few hours of sleep were lost as well.... let's see, how many more teeth have to still come in?! ouch.

awww.

never been a big fan of 'picture outfits' (which is what i call this one), but my grandma's sister gave me this fancy little getup, ellie was about to grow out of it and summer was long gone (these were taken in november), so i convinced my pal angie to take a few pics for us. specifically so i could give them to grandma and share them with here sister....
but i gotta say, they turned out pretty darn cute.
so thank you, great-aunt betty lou, for giving me a reason to dress up ellie like i never would have otherwise. hat and all. our little southern belle.

pure awesomeness:

so, i know she's not quite old enough to color (we're workin' on it), but i'm totally gonna have to buy this for ellie.
i'm sure she could come up with some pretty rad custom designs.
and i'd probably have to color a few too, just to teach by example, ya know?
:o)
happy thanksgiving!
i should go to bed now.
