perhaps it will be the nursery one day soon (that's a whole other story) but for now, it's my studio-- my retreat and "happy haven". the walls are covered in everything i love, from UNC basketball newspaper clips my grandma sent to old charcoal drawings from my early SCAD days to my favorite snapshots of flowers or friends whom i love and miss.
and when it's tidied up, carpet vacuumed, and iTunes library playing, its almost impossible to drag me out. kevin knows this well. many hours have been spent with him watching football and me puttering away in "my room"-- yelling back and forth that we love eachother and its good to spend time together. :)
my most recently completed quilt (on top), which i handstitched around all of the shapes. the back is a lovely soft white flannel and the texture of the stitching and puckering makes me smile.
and my latest throw-sized quilt in-progress.
(with sadie and pete as my loyal assistants-- they break them in just right, dirty paw prints and all)
and last nite i specifically enjoyed "making" while listening to this. good tunes for good times.
