yesterday was the 2nd annual "goodie-baking extravaganza" over at angie's house!

(the lovely angela hopper)

We made these delicious raspberry-jam filled thumbprint shortbread cookies, rolled in pecans, along with 7 layer bars, coconut balls, peanut butter balls, sugar cookies with cream cheese frosting (and some plain) and the sweetest, heaviest, and most indulgent fudge ever (!) with walnuts.... yum!

When it came time to clean up, I posed with the chocolate, though I truly wish we had bananas or pineapple or strawberries or pretzels or something else we could have dipped in the leftover chocolate! Seemed like such a delicious waste... we did make some, um, interesting peanut bark using raw peanuts. which probably would have turned out quite a bit better had the nuts been roasted or slightly salted first. next time! though it's been decided that peppermint bark will definitely make the list next year. who doesn't love the idea of crushing up candy canes with a hammer?!

oooohhhh. ahhhhh.
can't wait to make plates for the neighbors and mailman with all these goodies....

assuming that kevin and i don't eat them all first. :)
lord knows my belly was looking a bit larger than normal last nite after all the sweet-snacking from yesterday.... sheesh! i'm about over anything chocolate at this point....

sorry, pete. no sugary treats for you.
leftover ham and collard casserole ok instead? i think so.
happy holidays!
