so i put together this gift for my friend and former teammate, marianne. she just had a sweet baby girl: madeline maya.
once upon a time, a lifetime ago, i played college basketball at an art and design school. (the only one in the country with an athletics program... yes, a strange combination). and the SCAD mascot is the bee. so naturally, i went a little bee crazy for marianne's lil one: a bee onesy, a "bee ball" using some of my old SCAD athletics t-shirts, and some burt's bees baby soap. all in an old burt's bees box i found in my closet. ha!
marianne was one of my very talented teammates (as was becki who illustrated the very fierce looking bee on the ball above) and i look back on our time spent together in gyms all over the country with a happiness and nostalgia like no other. sheesh, how time flies!
